To develop a National Centre for Environmental Construction Skills to build on the valleys reputation as an environmnetal destination for business, leisure and lifestyle activities.
Achievements to date:
Active support of Kirklees EDS, Kirklees Environment Unit, ‘build’, AECB, AECB Carbonlite Programme
Formation of combined steering group with the Environmental Technology Business Generator, under the Green Valley Initiative, comprising two project champions, Kirklees EDS, ‘build’, Kirklees Environment Unit, YF
Feasibility Study undertaken indicating that the project is high risk , and therefore in present form unlikely to receive YF support
Feasibility failed to identify latent demand for this project. Project steering group continuing to research potential.
Present status of the project uncertain. Kirklees EDS exploring potential.
Targets for the next twelve months:
Uncertain due to results of Feasibility Study.

Maintaining focus on training on skills which can effectively reduce carbon emissions from buildings
Steering Consultants to investigate the vision and other existing models adequately
