DIY Manuals

DIY Manuals

How could you improve the centre of Marsden or Slaithwaite? The Marsden and Slaithwaite DIY manuals highlight a series of small projects that could make a big difference to the centre of your town. They are called DIY manuals because they contain things that everyone in the community could get involved with.

Some of these projects could be undertaken by individuals, community groups or property owners. Others can be done in partnership with the local council or other agencies.

The projects range from tidying and weeding to transforming disused buildings. Each project will improve an individual part of one of the villages and together they will improve the village centres in a big way.

Kirklees Council and the Renaissance steering group commissioned a study of how Marsden and Slaithwaite village centres could be improved. The manuals are the result.

Printed copies of the manuals are available to view in both Marsden and Slaithwaite libraries.
